5th century · 5th century · Also known as Ravanavaho

The Setubandha ('Building of the Bridge'), also called Ravanavaho, is an epic poem in Maharashtri Prakrit attributed to the Vakataka king Pravarasena II. In fifteen cantos it tells the episode of the Ramayana in which Rama's army builds a bridge to Lanka and defeats Ravana. It is one of the most admired works of Prakrit court poetry, praised by later critics such as Bana and Dandin.
