Shiroishi, Miyagi
Shiroishi is a city in southern Miyagi Prefecture, Japan, which grew around Shiroishi Castle, held under the Tokugawa by the Katakura family, senior retainers of the Date lords of Sendai. In May 1868 delegates of the northern domains met there and formed the Ōuetsu Reppan Dōmei against the new imperial government, and the alliance first kept its headquarters in the town.
