Sisak
Sisak is a town in central Croatia at the confluence of the Kupa and the Sava, on the site of Roman Siscia, an important city and mint of Pannonia. In the 9th century it was the seat of the dukes of Pannonian Croatia. In 1593 a Habsburg and Croatian army defeated the Ottomans at the Battle of Sisak, a turning point in the Ottoman–Habsburg wars.
