Social War (220–217 BCE)
The Social War of 220–217 BCE was fought between the Hellenic League led by Philip V of Macedon and the Aetolian League, joined by Sparta and Elis. Philip campaigned successfully in western Greece and the Peloponnese, and the war ended with the Peace of Naupactus (217 BCE), concluded as both sides watched the war between Rome and Carthage in Italy with growing concern.
