Stephanie of Milly

c. 1145–1197 · 12th century

Stephanie of Milly was heiress of the lordship of Oultrejordain in the Kingdom of Jerusalem, daughter of Philip of Milly. Her marriages carried the lordship to Humphrey III of Toron, then to Miles of Plancy and finally, in 1176, to Raynald of Châtillon. After Raynald's death she sought the release of her captive son Humphrey IV of Toron by offering Saladin the castles of Kerak and Montreal.
