Strelitz
Strelitz was a small town in the Lordship of Stargard in Mecklenburg, which became the residence of the dukes of Mecklenburg-Strelitz after the partition of 1701. After its palace burned in 1712, Duke Adolphus Frederick III built the new residence town of Neustrelitz nearby, and the old town, Strelitz-Alt, was merged into Neustrelitz in 1931.
