Strumica
Strumica is a town in south-eastern North Macedonia, in the valley of the Strumica river near the borders with Bulgaria and Greece. Known in antiquity as Astraion and in Byzantine times as Tiberiopolis, it changed hands repeatedly between Byzantium, Bulgaria and Serbia in the Middle Ages and was ruled by the Dejanović lords before the Ottoman conquest in the late 14th century.
