Sudeten German Party

1933–1938 · 20th century · Also known as Sudetendeutsche Partei

The Sudeten German Party was the political party of the German minority in Czechoslovakia, founded by Konrad Henlein in 1933 as the Sudeten German Home Front and renamed in 1935. Winning more votes than any other party in the 1935 elections, it was increasingly directed and funded by Nazi Germany. Its demands for autonomy led to the Munich Agreement, and it merged into the Nazi Party in late 1938.
