c. 1081–1151 · 12th century · Also known as Abbot Suger, Suger of Saint-Denis

Suger was abbot of Saint-Denis near Paris from 1122 and an adviser to the French kings Louis VI and Louis VII, serving as regent while Louis VII was on the Second Crusade.
