Sumhuram
Sumhuram, at Khor Rori on the Dhofar coast of southern Oman, was a fortified port founded by the Kingdom of Hadramawt in the last centuries BCE to control the frankincense trade. Its inscriptions name it as a royal foundation, and finds of Indian and Mediterranean pottery show contacts across the Indian Ocean. It is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site 'Land of Frankincense'.
