Tabula Amalphitana

Also known as Amalfian Laws

The Tabula Amalphitana is a medieval code of maritime law compiled in the Republic of Amalfi, probably between the 11th and 13th centuries. Its chapters regulate relations between shipowners, merchants and sailors, including shares in profits and liability for losses. It was widely followed in Mediterranean trade, and its manuscript, rediscovered in the 19th century, is kept in Amalfi.
