Taita

11th century BCE · 11th century BCE · Also known as Taita of Palistin

Taita was a king of Palistin, a Neo-Hittite kingdom of northern Syria, in the 11th or 10th century BCE. He is known from Luwian hieroglyphic inscriptions, among them one in the temple of the storm god on the citadel of Aleppo, which name him as hero and king of Palistin. His kingdom, later known as Patina or Unqi, has been linked by some scholars to the Philistines.
