fl. 712 BCE · 8th century BCE

Tarhunazi was the last king of Melid, a Neo-Hittite kingdom at Arslantepe near Malatya in eastern Turkey. In 712 BCE the Assyrian king Sargon II deposed him, took him captive and made Melid an Assyrian province, giving part of its territory to the neighbouring kingdom of Kummuh.
