Tarkasnawa

late 13th century BCE · 13th century BCE

Tarkasnawa was a king of Mira, a western Anatolian vassal kingdom of the Hittites, in the late 13th century BCE. He is named on the Karabel relief near Izmir, whose reading in 1998 confirmed that Mira reached towards the Aegean, and on a silver seal, the 'Tarkondemos' seal, with a bilingual inscription in cuneiform and Luwian hieroglyphs that played a part in deciphering the latter.
