Tell Khaiber

Tell Khaiber is an archaeological site in southern Iraq, about 20 kilometres north-west of Ur, excavated from 2013 by the Ur Region Archaeology Project. Its principal building, a large fortified administrative complex, yielded an archive of cuneiform tablets from the First Sealand Dynasty in the mid-2nd millennium BCE. The texts record the collection of grain and dates and the organisation of labour, giving a rare view of the Sealand state.
