Tharapita
Tharapita is a god of the pre-Christian Estonians named in the Livonian Chronicle of Henry, written in the 1220s. Henry describes him as the great god of the Oeselians, born on a wooded hill in Virumaa, from where he flew to Saaremaa. He is one of the few Estonian deities named in medieval sources, and his name and role are still debated by scholars.
