The Mounth

The Mounth is the range of hills forming the eastern end of the Grampian Mountains in Scotland, running from the Cairngorms towards the coast near Stonehaven. It separates Angus and the Mearns from Deeside and Aberdeenshire, and its passes were key routes north. In early medieval sources it marked the division between the southern and northern Picts.
