Tincomarus

late 1st century BCE · 1st century BCE

Tincomarus was a king of the Atrebates in southern Britain in the late 1st century BCE, known from coins that name him as a son of Commius. His coins adopted Roman designs, and he is often identified with a British king named in the Res Gestae of Augustus as a suppliant who fled to Rome. He was succeeded by his brother Eppillus.
