Tinganes
Tinganes is a small rocky peninsula in the harbour of Tórshavn, the capital of the Faroe Islands. From the Viking Age it was the meeting place of the Alting, the islands' assembly, and it is regarded as one of the oldest parliamentary meeting places in the world. Its cluster of old turf-roofed wooden buildings now houses the offices of the Faroese government.
