Tórshavn
Tórshavn is the capital and largest town of the Faroe Islands, on the east coast of the island of Streymoy. Its name means Thor's harbour. The assembly of the islands met on the Tinganes peninsula there from the Viking Age, and the town later grew as the centre of the Danish trade monopoly. It is now the seat of the Løgting and the Faroese government.
