Tlemcen
Tlemcen is a city in north-western Algeria that was an important commercial and political centre of the central Maghreb. The Zayyanid seizure of Tlemcen around 1236 carved the central Maghreb out of the Almohad domain. It then became the capital of the Zayyanid dynasty, one of the successor states of the Almohads.
