Toka-Leya

Also known as Toka-Leya people

The Toka-Leya are a Bantu people of southern Zambia living around Livingstone and the Victoria Falls, made up of the closely related Toka and Leya. In the nineteenth century they paid tribute to the Lozi kingdom of Barotseland. The Leya chief Mukuni, whose seat lies near the falls, is one of the best-known traditional rulers of the region.
