Trajan's Dacian Wars
Trajan's Dacian Wars were two campaigns fought by the Roman emperor Trajan against the kingdom of Dacia, north of the Danube, in 101–102 CE and 105–106 CE. The second war ended with the death of the Dacian king Decebalus and the annexation of Dacia as a Roman province, bringing great quantities of gold to Rome. The wars are commemorated on Trajan's Column in Rome.
