Transitional Federal Government
The Transitional Federal Government was the internationally recognised government of Somalia from 2004 to 2012. Formed at peace talks in Kenya, with a parliament chosen by clan quotas, it struggled to control even Mogadishu and depended on Ethiopian troops and then on the African Union force AMISOM. In 2012 it was replaced by the Federal Government of Somalia under a new provisional constitution.
