Traprain Law
Traprain Law is a hill in East Lothian, Scotland, crowned by one of the largest hillforts in Britain. A centre of the Votadini from the Iron Age through the Roman period, it received Roman goods in quantity, and in 1919 excavators found the Traprain Law Treasure, a hoard of cut Roman silver buried in the early 5th century. It was largely abandoned afterwards, as power shifted to sites such as Edinburgh.
