Trave

The Trave is a river in Schleswig-Holstein, northern Germany, which flows past Bad Segeberg and Lübeck to the Baltic Sea at Travemünde. Lübeck was refounded in 1159 on a hill between the Trave and the Wakenitz, and the river gave the city the access to the sea that made it the leading port of the Hanseatic League.
