Treaty of Coche
The Treaty of Coche was the agreement signed in April 1863 at the Coche estate near Caracas that ended the Federal War in Venezuela. Negotiated between representatives of José Antonio Páez's government and of the federalist leader Juan Crisóstomo Falcón, it handed power to a national assembly dominated by the Liberals, which made Falcón president. It opened the way to the federal constitution of 1864.
