Treaty of Riechenberg

1552 · 16th century

The Treaty of Riechenberg was the settlement of 1552 by which the imperial city of Goslar submitted to Duke Henry the Younger of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel after years of conflict over the Rammelsberg. The city lost control of the mines and its forests to the duke, which began its long economic decline.
