Treaty of Wehlau
The Treaty of Wehlau was signed on 19 September 1657 between Poland-Lithuania and Frederick William, the Great Elector of Brandenburg, during the Second Northern War. In return for the elector abandoning his alliance with Sweden, King John II Casimir released the Duchy of Prussia from Polish overlordship, giving Brandenburg full sovereignty there. It was confirmed by the Treaty of Bromberg later that year.
