Udayeshwar Temple

1059–1080 · 11th century · Also known as Neelkantheshwar Temple

The Udayeshwar Temple, also called Neelkantheshwar, is an 11th-century Shiva temple at Udaipur in Vidisha district of Madhya Pradesh, India. Inscriptions attribute it to the Paramara king Udayaditya, who built it between about 1059 and 1080. Built of red sandstone in the Bhumija style with a richly carved spire, it is one of the finest surviving monuments of Paramara architecture.
