Ujiji
Ujiji is a town on the eastern shore of Lake Tanganyika in western Tanzania, one of the oldest market towns of the region. In the 19th century it was the lakeside terminus of the caravan route from the Swahili coast through Tabora, through which Arab and Swahili traders brought ivory and captives. In 1871 Henry Morton Stanley met David Livingstone there with the words 'Dr Livingstone, I presume?'.
