Congo Basin
The Congo basin is the vast drainage area of the Congo River in Central Africa, largely covered by tropical rainforest. Its southern savanna fringes were the home of the Luba and Lunda states. The Lunda Empire's trade networks extended across this region, linking the interior with Atlantic commerce.
