Uttararamacharita
The Uttararamacharita ('The Later Story of Rama') is a Sanskrit drama in seven acts by Bhavabhuti, written in the 8th century. It treats Rama's banishment of Sita and their final reunion with their sons, changing the tragic ending of the Ramayana into a reconciliation. Famous for its expression of pathos (karuna rasa), it is considered Bhavabhuti's masterpiece.
