Vakil Bazaar

The Vakil Bazaar is the main covered market of Shiraz, Iran, built under Karim Khan during the Zand period. Its vaulted brick arcades formed the commercial heart of the Zand capital. Accounts of the Zand Empire list it among the finest examples of eighteenth-century Persian architecture, testifying to Karim Khan's investment in Shiraz.
