Bazaar
A bazaar is a market or commercial quarter, typically of covered streets, shops and workshops, found in cities across the Islamic world and South Asia. In the Safavid Empire the bazaars of Isfahan linked Indian Ocean imports with European demand, while those of Lahore connected Central Asian caravan trade with Indian markets in the Sikh Empire. Bazaar merchants were also an important economic and political constituency in the Zand Empire.
