Verona Manifesto

1943 · 20th century

The Verona Manifesto was the programme adopted by the Republican Fascist Party at its congress in Verona in November 1943, after Mussolini's restoration as head of the German-backed Italian Social Republic. Its eighteen points promised a republic, the socialisation of industry and workers' participation in management, and declared Jews to be enemy aliens. Few of its measures were carried out before the republic's collapse in 1945.
