The Vijay Stambha, or Tower of Victory, is a nine-storey tower in Chittor Fort built by Rana Kumbha of Mewar in the mid-fifteenth century to commemorate his victory over Mahmud Khalji of Malwa. Rising about 37 metres and dedicated to Vishnu, it is covered inside and out with sculptures of Hindu deities and has become an emblem of Chittor and of Rajasthan.
