Vigraharaja IV

r. c. 1150–1164 · 12th century · Also known as Visaladeva

Vigraharaja IV was a king of the Chahamanas of Shakambhari in Rajasthan in the mid-12th century who expanded the kingdom north by taking Delhi from the Tomara dynasty, whose chiefs continued as his vassals. A patron of learning, he wrote the Sanskrit play Harakeli Nataka, parts of which were inscribed on stone slabs at Ajmer in a building later converted into the Adhai Din Ka Jhonpra mosque.
