Arabian Sea
The Arabian Sea is the part of the northern Indian Ocean between Arabia and the Indian subcontinent. It carried maritime trade linking the Persian Gulf, Red Sea and Indian ports. It was important to the trade of the Gupta Empire, to the Afsharid Empire's coastal ambitions and to the Maratha Empire, whose navy operated along India's western coast.
