Vijayamitra

c. 1st century BCE · 1st century BCE

Vijayamitra was a king of the Apracharaja dynasty of Bajaur, the earliest of the line known from inscriptions, ruling in the 1st century BCE. Buddhist reliquary inscriptions are dated by his regnal years; one, the Rukhuna casket, is dated in his 27th year and also in the Azes and Greek eras, making it a key document for the chronology of the period.
