Vocabolario degli Accademici della Crusca
The Vocabolario degli Accademici della Crusca was the dictionary of the Italian language published in Venice in 1612 by the Accademia della Crusca of Florence. Based on the Florentine of fourteenth-century writers, above all Dante, Petrarch and Boccaccio, it established Tuscan as the model for literary Italian and served as an example for the dictionaries of the French and Spanish academies. Revised editions followed into the twentieth century.
