Waren is a town in Mecklenburg, north-eastern Germany, on the northern shore of the Müritz, the largest lake lying wholly within Germany. Founded in the 13th century, it belonged to the lords of Werle, who had a residence there, and later to Mecklenburg. It is now the main town of the Müritz National Park region.
