Wat Phu
Wat Phu is a ruined Khmer temple complex in Champasak province in southern Laos, built at the foot of a mountain whose summit resembles a linga. A Shaivite sanctuary from around the 5th century, rebuilt mainly in the 11th and 12th centuries, it is linked to the early Chenla state and lay on a road to Angkor. It is now a Theravada Buddhist site and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
