Westminster Abbey
Westminster Abbey is a church in Westminster, London, rebuilt by Edward the Confessor and consecrated in 1065, then rebuilt again in Gothic style from 1245 under Henry III. Every English and British monarch since William the Conqueror, crowned there on Christmas Day 1066, has been crowned in the abbey, except Edward V and Edward VIII, who were never crowned. Many kings, queens and notable figures are buried there.
