Person
Yadega
Yadega is the traditional founder of the Mossi kingdom of Yatenga in the north of present-day Burkina Faso, usually dated to the first half of the 16th century. Mossi tradition says that he was a prince of the Ouagadougou royal line who, passed over in a succession dispute, went north with the royal regalia and founded his own kingdom. Later kings of Yatenga traced their descent from him.
