White Volta
The White Volta is a river of West Africa that rises in northern Burkina Faso and flows south into Ghana, where it joins the Black Volta to form the Volta, now dammed as Lake Volta. Its valley was the heartland of the Mossi kingdoms and of Dagbon, and it linked the savanna states to the trade routes of the Gonja region.
