Ouahigouya

Ouahigouya is a city in northern Burkina Faso and the capital of the North Region. It was founded around 1780 by King Naaba Kango as the capital of the Mossi kingdom of Yatenga, and its ruler, the Yatenga Naaba, still resides there. Taken by the French in 1895, it later grew into the country's fourth largest town and a market for the farmers of the north.
