Ouarsenis
The Ouarsenis is a mountain range of the Tell Atlas in north-western Algeria, south of the Chelif valley, rising to almost 2,000 metres. After Roman and Vandal authority faded in the late 5th century it was the core of a Berber kingdom, and its rugged country later sheltered many movements of resistance, including against French rule.
