Yang Ganzhen
Yang Ganzhen was a powerful official of the Erhai region of Yunnan, in the former lands of Nanzhao. In 928 he overthrew Zheng Longdan, last ruler of the Da Changhe, and placed Zhao Shanzheng on the throne of the short-lived Da Tianxing, before taking power himself and founding the Da Yining. He was overthrown in 937 by Duan Siping, founder of the Dali Kingdom.
