Yanji
Yanji is a city in Jilin province, north-east China, and the capital of the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, near the borders with North Korea and Russia. The area lay in the old Jurchen homeland, and the capital of Puxian Wannu's Eastern Xia stood nearby in the early 13th century. From the late 19th century Korean settlement made it the main centre of China's Korean minority.
